Another quilt top made from the Easy Peasy Quilts 3- Yard Quilts booklet borrowed from the guild library. I have to say while I’m liking the look of the patterns I’m finding them technically not as much to my liking as I’d hoped they would be. They assume a full 42″ of usable fabric, which… Read More »

Easy Street

By | February 11, 2020

Making this quilt top from the Easy Peasy 3- Yard Quilts book was a fun one day project. The only thing I’m doing differently from the pattern is that I won’t be doing single fold binding.  Double fold binding is my preference to finish a quilt. As I have more than a yard of the… Read More »

Small Dog Quilt

By | January 22, 2020

Here is my first finish for 2020! The dog themed blocks were from a small bag of material found at Value Village a second hand store and the solid blocks were from fat quarters that were in my stash. It will be donated to the guild’s outreach program in February.

I really wish I hadn’t run out of that material but at least I had just enough of it to make some sashing to avoid having to deal with points matching and seams… Read More »

Doll Quilts

By | October 27, 2019

A few years back I made a couple of doll quilts for friends who collect dolls. The doll quilts were made of poly cotton therefore if you are the quilt police and disapprove of anything but 100% cotton quilts I’m afraid this post will upset you. I don’t like to mix fibre types in a… Read More »

Blue Sawtooth Stars

By | October 24, 2019

Quite a number of years ago, how many I’m not sure, I decided I’d make 9 – 8.5″ blue sawtooth star blocks. I don’t recall making them or having a plan for them. Not surprisingly they’ve floated around the sewing room for years.  As part of my “get old projects done” push I pulled them… Read More »

Churn Dash Fun

By | October 20, 2019

I found some lovely fabric in my stash, that for some reason I had not used yet; “Mugungalyi” -Circle by Nutex 100% cotton www.nutex.co.nz – great quality with a lovely feel and thickness. And black and white, what could be better to use with bright scraps? A simple churn dash block I thought would show… Read More »
