Doll Quilts

By | October 27, 2019

A few years back I made a couple of doll quilts for friends who collect dolls.

The doll quilts were made of poly cotton therefore if you are the quilt police and disapprove of anything but 100% cotton quilts I’m afraid this post will upset you. I don’t like to mix fibre types in a quilt but I’m totally cool with an all poly cotton quilt.

And you have to admit there are some cool pillowcases and sheets from a few years ago when polycotton was all the rage for bedding, as these two doll quilts attest:

Great use for your old sheets. (Although, the only print sheets I remember were from a LOT of years ago!) I’m sure the doll’s will love them!

Hi Yvonne! I don’t think there should even BE a quilt police. If someone doesn’t like what someone else makes, then keep your opinion to yourself. Weren’t you taught that as a small child? If you don’t have something nice to say . . . Anyway, jumping off my soap box now! I think your doll quilts are pretty, and just perfect for some special dolly friends. I have been meaning to make some for the charity A Doll Like You, so thank you for reminding me. And thanks for linking up today. ~smile~ Roseanne

Personally I prefer 100% cotton but these are gorgeous. All cotton waterbed sheets are hard to find so I purchase 100% top sheets and make my own. My mil loved flowery fabrics and has made just about everything from the cotton/poly sheets.

I plan to make doll quilts with the 4 patches I’ve been sewing together with the soscrappy colors. I really should get on that soon!
