What to do with a box overflowing with bright happy 2.5″ patches and a pile of black squares the same size other than make some four patches .Easy mindless sewing that you can zen out on – I love that kind of sewing. So a pile of 4 patches were created.
Then came figuring out how to set them. A search of the stash came up with a dark grey fabric with colourful dots. So I decided to combine them in simple small quilt. At first I was stressing out about the layout.
I got over the stress when I realised they were the same and just reversed. But I do have to admit I spent some time contemplating before I realised that. And yes I now feel silly about it.
Right now its a small 36″ square project.
I’m thinking of calling it done and and quilting it. Perhaps to be bound in turquoise or black. It will make a good charity quilt.
I really have to stop starting new projects and start finishing some. Good thing I spent the majority of the day at the local long arm quilt studio renting time to get a couple of quilts quilted. Here is a peak at one of the quilts I worked on today.
I’ve trimmed it. Now to make an apply the binding and get an older project finished!
One cheerful new quilt top and one nearly checked off the list? I’d say that sounds like a WIN!!!
Your projects are so bright and beautiful! I love 4 patches too, in any kind of fabric. Congrats on finishing, I’m feeling the need to get something done too.
Those are such pretty quilts! I love the bright 4 patches with the fun black dotted alternate squares. Looks to me like you are really good about finishing what you start!
Great job turning those scraps into a lovely little quilt. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
They are both lovely quilts, well done!
Such beautiful and bright quilts! Wow! That one you quilted is so lovely! Made me smile! Nice job!
What adorable projects. I’m partial to the bright colors.
Congrats on your finish and your new charity top as well! I’m curious; when you rent the long arm, are you following paper pantograph designs to do your quilting, using a computer, groovy boards, or anything like that? And were you able to quilt that whole big quilt in one day’s rental, or do they have zipper leaders so you can come in and quilt for an hour or two at a time and take your quilt home with you in between sessions? You did a great job on it!
Your white and rainbow quilt is so pretty.
I thought you were referring to the super colorful one as being easy…..I looked and looked and that does not look easy at all.
I guess to rent time on a long arm you first have to know how to use one. I’m going to inquire about this.
These are both so lovely! I especially like the white one. The quilting is divine! Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.
Beautiful projects, I especially love the white one you just quilted. You are very productive!
