As I mentioned in my last post I started a low volume quilt top. As I’m all about the bright colours that’s something different for me to attempt to make. I did include a bit of a colour pop as I couldn’t imagine the entire quilt being subdued. That’s just not me. I’m all about the bright scrappy goodness.
Here are a couple of pictures of my my quilt top!
It’s a one block quilt, with one row of three, 2.5″ squares, and one row of four 1.5″ squares, and 2 more rows 2.5″ square to make a finished block of 6″ x 7.5″ square Easy peasy! Making this helped tame both my box of 2.5″ squares and my box of colourful 2″ squares, both of which where in desperate need of taming!i’
I’m now working on another low volume quilt, this time to tame the light scraps in my box of 2″ squares.I must say that I’m enjoying getting out of my rut of using just my scrappy bright scraps in quilts.

Yvonne, this is some great scrappy yumminess. Th below volume fabrics only enhance the brightness of the scraps.
Creative use of scraps!!! I like how the colorful squares are a bit smaller.
SEW glad to see the owl remained, Yvonne. LOVE this cheerful quilt!!
Love the combination of square sizes. Very cool quilt.
