orange and blue quilt top

Orange and Blue

Posted on August 28, 2020October 23, 2020

I finally found a border fabric for my orange and blue quit. This quilt is a downsized version of Bonnie Hunter’s Fourth of July quilt.

I have been looking for either a blue fabric with an orange print or vice versa. I finally found an orange print with blue stars that are close in colour to the blue of the quilt.  Wanting this quilt done I grabbed a metre of it as soon as I saw it.

I think it works prettty well

This is the first quilt I’ve done in this colourway. I can’t say that I love it as I don’t. I much prefer the one I made in blues and greens.

However, the top is done and I’ll quilt it shortly. It’s going to be a donation quilt and I’m sure someone will love it!

Oooh, I love both color combos. The orange and blue would be out of my comfort zone too but I think it works. The border fabric is a perfect complement. And I love Bonnie Hunter’s designs. I’ll have to put this one on my to-do bucket list. Wonderful quilts!

The orange and blue version is very pretty! Although I’ll admit to being more of blue and green girl myself. The border is perfect!

Broncos colors — hah! Yes, someone will definitely love that quilt more than you do. When one of my sons was little, he told me that he wished EVERYTHING IN THE WHOLE WORLD was orange! 🙂

Both quilts are gorgeous though! It’s hard working with a colorway that isn’t a favorite, but you pulled it together. The border fabric works very well with the quilt!

Your quilt looks terrific. The border fabric works really well. I like orange and blue quilt but I love the blue and green one. Hum, I have that pattern on my computer… maybe I should take a look at it again.

Both color combinations are so pretty! The blue and orange totally works for me as those are the colors of my home town’s university! Go Miners!

I remember in the 1970’s our family kitchen was orange and blue! I think some cupboard doors were orange others blue. It’s a colour combination I always enjoy. When I’m making a scrappy quilt I always smile when I manage to find orange and blue fabric pieces to stitch together. 🙂
