I had a good day of sewing on Saturday and got this happy blocks quilt top quilted.
I have to say it wasn’t an easy quilting job. My Sapphire’s pressure foot sensor and the walking foot weren’t playing nicely together resulting in the machine stopping and the error message “pressure foot too high” coming on the screen every few minutes. I finally took off the walking foot and quilted the rest of the quilt with a regular foot. Strangely enough, I didn’t get bunching or have any problems doing that. I found material to bind the quilt and the binding got made but it hasn’t yet been applied to the quilt.
I also made this small bag. It’s called a Easter Egg Tote Bag.
The pattern is from here but the video giving the instructions has vanished. Even without instructions it was pretty straightforward to put together. The outside material is from a vintage pillowcase and I used some fairly heavy interfacing as a middle layer to give it some body.
After that my sewing and quilting mojo went away. I haven’t done much since which is unusual for me as I’ve been sewing daily ever since March when I started working from home. After not sewing Sunday or Monday I was hoping do some sewing or crafting yesterday, if only for fifteen or twenty minutes. But it didn’t happen and I’m feeling unfocussed even though there are started projects I could be working on. Hopefully, this malaise passes quickly.
I love that quilt…so bright and cheerful for a little one. The bag is a sweet idea too. I was in a bit of a sewing rut until I joined a pincushion link party. I’ve now made four pincushions and am starting my fifth….LOL From nothing to a lot 🙂
I love all those bright colours and the center fabrics on your quilt. Thanks for showing us.
Congrats on getting your project quilted and that sweet little bag put together! Here’s hoping your sewing mojo returns soon.
Sometimes we just need a break. I love your quilt and the grass really makes it pop. Cute bag too. Thank you for linking up to Put your foot down.
What a bright and Cheery Quilt!! I sure hope your mojo comes back – I hate when that happens!!!
Love your qui.t, so bright and happy!
Sometimes you feel like a quilter and sometimes you don’t! The current events side lined me for a bit also! I love your a Happy Block quilt and your Easter Egg bad is SEW precious! Both, well done!
All those bright and happy and colourful squares make for a gorgeous quilt! A gorgeous bag, too. Two beautiful finishes to be enjoyed.
It’s not always easy to find inspiration, or motivation to sew, but I hope you will find a way to get your mojo back.
Thank you for sharing your lovely and bright quilt, and this cute bag with Quiltingpatch’s Patchwork & Quilts link party!
Such a cute quilt! Lots of pretty color makes it so happy! That is a great bag, too – thanks for sharing the link to the pattern.
I love your happy blocks quilt! And your bag is lovely (plus good recycling!) I’ve had some no-quilting days lately too. It usually happens to me in summer when I’m busy outside. When I get back to sewing, I’m more inspired than before. Good luck!
Hi,

Well any malaise I might have had is gone thanks to your beautiful projects! Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss.
Such a pretty quilt! Bright and cheery with both the square prints and the blender surrounds – well done!
