A friend posted that a blogger I know needed pattern testers to test out a quilting pattern. One look at Preeti’s (sewpreetiquilts.blogspot.com) sample and I was more than excited to put my hand up to test the pattern!
This pattern, Novella, is too adorable for words for a cat lover like me. It was so exciting to be selected to test out this adorable pattern. I did get a free copy of the pattern to but I’m writing this post because I just adored it so much not because I’m feeling obligated to do so.
Here is a picture of my fabric pull
Scrappy Brights – my absolute favourite! I put them with a black background to allow them to shine!
The instructions were great and I was able to make this quilting pattern in an afternoon. And that did include breaks! I had very few comments to make on the pattern. Even the snails trail block went together fast! Before I knew it the top centres were together:
I pondered awhile about making the wall hanging but finally I decided to make this into two table runners. Because I have to mess with every quilting pattern I make I made one with the border the size the pattern called for and another with a border just a wee bit wider!
I quilted one with a slightly off black thread colour and the other with a vibrant purple colour. I kept it simple by quilting both with a lazy meander. Finished before knew it!
The backing is some scrap fabric – who sees the back anyways? But I did include a label on each showing off my fancy new labels just in case someone does get nosy!
I gave these to a friend who loves cats!
Preeti has this quilting pattern on sale for 25% off until July 15th in her etsy store.
Where do I even begin? Thank you for test driving the Novella pattern. I had asked for a rapid turnaround and you were faster than prompt. I love your color choices (and the black background) so much that I immediately pulled out fabrics to make another Novella Wall Hanging with a black background. You inspired me, Yvonne. When I write the next pattern, I will be asking you first 🙂 Have a great weekend. Hugs.
